FIREBALL MINISTRY, ARTIMUS PYLEDRIVER and VAINS OF JENNA To Team Up For TRIPLE THREAT TOUR
September 19, 2006While beer snobs around the world will soon flock to Germany for the country's annual Octoberfest, the more budget-conscious boozers among us will have an even more intoxicating entertainment option this fall right around the corner at the local rock bar.
On Oct. 13, The Triple Threat Tour — featuring hard rock upstarts FIREBALL MINISTRY, ARTIMUS PYLEDRIVER and VAINS OF JENNA, and sponsored by Hot Topic — will kick off in suburban Denver. Over six subsequent weeks, it will circle the country and showcase three groups who represent the new school of guitar-driven, classic-minded rock n' roll.
The tour marks L.A. rock warriors FIREBALL MINISTRY's first headlining tour in support of their acclaimed 2005 release, "Their Rock Is Not Our Rock". The band has already toured North America six times on the campaign with such marquee names as H.I.M., DISTURBED, OPETH, CKY and CLUTCH, in addition to performances alongside such legends as JUDAS PRIEST and ALICE COOPER. The band's hit single "Sundown", which has received regular airplay on MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball", was recently performed live on NBC's "Last Call With Carson Daly".
Fresh from touring alongside DEVILDRIVER and BURY YOUR DEAD, Atlanta's ARTIMUS PYLEDRIVER continues to support their self-titled DRT debut. Their heavy Southern rock impressed Kerrang! to the point where the magazine recently called the band "masters of the moonshine-stained riff." The group, who has previously toured with the likes of NASHVILLE PUSSY and HANK III, recently shot a video for their new single, "Swamp Devil", which can be viewed at this location.
Opening the bill is the young Swedish sleaze rock quartet VAINS OF JENNA, whose debut release, "Lit Up / Let Down", will hit stores on Oct. 24. The album is the first issued by Filthy Note, the new Fontana-distributed imprint recently launched by skateboarding icon Bam Margera. Margera — also of MTV's "Jackass" and "Viva La Bam" fame — himself directed the group's first music video, "No One's Gonna Do It For You", which can be seen now at www.FilthyNote.com. "This band is so good, I had to start a label just to put their record out," he says.
Margera plans to make appearances at select stops along the tour trail.
